Refreshing Rain

It is not hard to think of what to be thankful for this week.

It has been months since we have had any rain,

and because of that, the area is/was battling wild fires in the mountains and national parks.

I am thankful for the rain that we received on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A nice soaking rain.

While we are still behind in the rainfall totals for the year,

the showers were timely and helpful in the fire fighting efforts.

I am also thankful that the rains helped to knock down most of the remaining leaves ...

and so today I will rake (or hill billy rake (i.e. mow with a bag).

Bring on winter ... whatever that means in NC 😉
