What's In A Name?

So our new family member (the Betta) received his name this morning.

Thank you for all of your ideas.

They were fun to read and to try on our little fish.

This morning, I was commenting on our "romantic" little fish.

He likes to swim in the corner and blow bubbles.

Bettas do this to make a nest for their fish eggs.

He is preparing a place for his little sweetheart.

Since there is no Mrs. Betta, our little Mr. is blowing bubbles in vain.

But, it is also a sign that a betta is really happy.

We have not yet had a "happy" betta, because this is the first to blow bubbles.

Then it hit hubby ...

the fish should be called "Romeo."

It worked.

It seems to fit.

So Romeo it is.

And when he is hiding in the tank ...

"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?"
