The work continues in the new trailer.
Hubby fixed the shower stall door last night.
It was worn to the point where it would pop open whenever it had a mind to.
This weekend we get to cut a hole in the wall to access the pipes of the master bath.
I am so glad that we found an access panel to install
to make it easier next time and to keep the project neater.
We are planning to cut back the Bradford Pears early in January
to keep them strong and prevent loss during large wind storms.
The gutters have been cleaned out (though they might need it again).
What maintenance do you do around the house each fall/winter?
The rose bushes are wrapped in burlap. Small shrubs, flowering trees are wrapped in plastic mesh as protection from heavy snow/ice. We also take down the privacy fence from that back deck and store it against the back wall of the house under the porch roof. It is easier to clear the deck of snow when it piles up. No gutters here. Only one short one over the front door. That one took a beating last winter. :( It is still there, but will have to watch it and maybe take it down if we get lots of snowfall.
ReplyDeleteWe usually add a cardboard insulation behind the skirting of our mobile home each winter. This gives protection from wind blowing over our water lines and freezing them. It is cheaper than heat tape, and safer too.
DeleteWe cover the outdoor A/C unit to prevent winter damage, and the buildup of seed pods in the early spring when the fall of the area trees.
Gutters have to be cleaned and tree limbs that grow toward the roof are cut.
Generally it is fall when we do a scrubbing of the skirting because of mold that grows on the backside that does not get sun during the wet spring and warm summer.
I guess we avoid a lot of maintenance by just living out of snow country. We avoid the skirting issue with a brick foundation. Possibly should think of the a/c unit ...
