Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son:
but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
The Proverb for this week is not popular in society.
Modern teaching encourages parents to reason with their children.
Psychology warns that corporal punishment will bruise a child's psyche.
While I agree that abuse exists,
and that "the rod" can be used inappropriately,
I also see that it is an excuse to follow the Bible's clear command.
True love for children is shown by Biblical training.
It is not a one time act.
There will be repeated correction and training.
