Proverbs 17:9
He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.
Why is it that we want to repeat everything we hear and see?
Why do we want to prove that we know the facts?
Why don't we "forgive and forget"?
The writer of Proverbs reminds us to watch our tongues.
Covering a transgression is the loving act.
Not reminding a husband of how he failed.
Not reminding a friend of the hurt they caused.
Not belittling a child.
Just show love.
Hold your tongue.
