Friday Forum: Life Verse

This is an odd topic for me.
My "life" verse seems to change with the seasons of life.
Does that happen for you as well?

One of my longtime favorites has been ...

Hebrews 4:14-16
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens,
Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy,
and find grace to help in time of need.

Recently, I find myself leaning on these verses ...

Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Jeremiah 32:17
Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth
by thy great power and stretched out arm,
and there is nothing too hard for thee:

How about you?
Do you have a favorite verse?
Feel free to share.
Your verse may encourage me too,
or another reader for that matter!

  1. As I pick favorites for memorizing out of different books, I noticed that 2 of my verses are "Fear not" verses (Genesis 50:19-20 (Joseph saying it) and Exodus 14:13) Numbers 11:23 "And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord's hand waxed short? Thou shalt see now whether the word of the Lord shall come to pass unto thee or not." about God's faithfulness. Leviticus 17:11 about God's plan for redemption (the blood is given to make atonement for the soul), Deuteronomy 8:3 - a reminder that God brings want sometimes to show us His provision and faithfulness (besides it being one of the verses Jesus quoted from when being tempted in the wilderness) and Joshua 11:15 reminding of the importance of passing along faithfulness to the next generation. I don't have a life verse, just many that I enjoy. :)

    1. Looks like your memory plan is going well - I guess verses that "meet the need of the hour" tend to jump out at us.

  2. Two Life Verses: Jeremiah 29:11 and 2 Chronicles 16:9
Jeremiah 29:11 was given by my dad when our family was moving and I was struggling. It has followed me through many moves and many times of waiting. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." It helps me to look forward to the expected end.
The Second (2 Chron 16:9) is a reminder to always look for the expected end with unwaivering faith that I might see mighty illustrations of God's power. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. To turn from faith in Christ never has a positive end.
